It may be that the PC you are using is an older, less powerful model in which case you should try to use a more modern machine if you can.
It may also be that you are using a Netscape internet browser, which is not as effective in downloading our material as Microsoft Internet Explorer. If you can switch to an Internet Explorer browser, please do so as this should work better.
See our FAQ dealing with the technical specification for more information of this kind.

Very definately yes? Every piece of study material offered on the PTC has been specifically designed and written completely from scratch for ACCA's new Professional scheme, the first examinations for which take place in December 2001.

Yes, your annual subscription runs from the day your access to the PTC is confirmed. You will receive a reminder, by e-mail, to renew your subscription before your membership anniversary. If you do not renew your membership, your access to the PTC will automatically expire on your anniversary date.
The subscription period will cover you for two ACCA examination sessions. You will be able to nominate a maximum of four papers for which you can download study material from the PTC. This mirrors ACCA's regulation allowing you to take a maximum of four ACCA papers at any examination session. After each ACCA examination session, you will be asked to nominate a new set of four papers, based on those which you intend to sit at the next session. These could be the same papers as before or a different combination of papers, the choice is yours.

Software (minimum specification): Internet Explorer 4.0 or Netscape Navigator4.7 or an Opera or a Mozilla browser, an e-mail program with a valid e-mail address and Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0. Please ensure that your cookies are enabled.

There can be quite significant variances in some syllabus areas between the International and UK streams. While many of the issues may seem to be similar, their treatments under the different systems of standards might be very different. We therefore recommend that you do not use material prepared for the International stream to study for UK stream examinations.
We are planning to provide UK stream downloads for PTC members in 2002, until then you should use other UK stream material to study for your examinations.
Remember, only ACCA’s Accounting and Auditing papers are affected by the difference between International and UK streams. The Management and Systems papers are standard and the downloads we provide on the PTC can be used for all of these examinations. In the case of Tax, you can use the UK Tax study material unless you are sitting one of ACCA’s national Tax variant papers.
